The premium 154CM stainless steel straight-edge blade has a great balance of corrosion resistance and toughness. But, of course, it’s more than just a knife. At the center of the Skeletool CX is a premium 154CM stainless steel blade. This plain edge blade stays sharper longer and resists rust. A plain edge blade is ideal for daily tasks. Perfect for opening boxes, slicing rope, or making quick, clean cuts when you need them most.

A great tool. Not my favorite mostly because of the cost. But solid.

"The price is high for the tools you get especially compared to other LTs that offer more versatility at comparable or even lower cost. I use the T2 more because it has been more useful. It is very stiff at first use. I added some lubricant so that helps. I pinched myself using the tool as I was closing it. Then I inadvertently jabbed myself with Phillips screw head. But other than that, I love it. The colors are wonderful. I even added personalization. This will be handed down to one of my sons. The carabiner is very useful. The blade is super sharp and durable. The pliers is just ok. My one wish is for another tool or pocket to store another screwdriver bit when only using the pliers. I'm still happy with new tool to the collection. Thank you!"

Buy a different product for work

"Bit holder did not retain well and now my glass breaker bit is gone. Also incredibly annoying for practical purposes to not have spring actuated pliers. When I'm working and I have something in my left hand I have to put it down to use both hands to open the pliers, EVERY TIME I NEED TO GRIP SOMETHING!!! This is the type of design blind spot that genuinely makes me think people are not testing these in real world applications. This tool feels more aesthetics oriented rather than being a true dependable workhorse which is what I always associated with the older style Leatherman products. I am part of the problem, I thought the green and blue colorway was cool. You know what is really cool????? THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB."

Excellent minimalist tool

"The slim form factor is just what I was looking for. Not so bulky and heavy as some of the larger, more complex multi-tools, but still plenty of heft in the hand to feel the quality of the craftsmanship and materials. The knife blade is razor sharp. While there is some resistance (as expected) to opening the pliers, once the handles are fully positioned, the action is smooth. Despite not having the contoured grip sides like the Wave, I still find the comfort to be excellent, especially with the curvature of the caribiner side. Plenty of leverage allowed for a tight grip. And I love the built in caribiner clip as well as the belt clip."

Good but flawed

"Knife has been great, and tool works as advertised. Wish they would have included a full size plier and replaceable wire cutters like the bigger models. The plier and wire cutters in my experience so far have been too small for my everyday use and I may need to swap back to my wave+. Final nitpick, I’ve had it for less than a month and the paint has come off in many places which isn’t a deal breaker just disappointing because I liked the color scheme"

Tool failed quickly and the warranty sucks

"Plier jaws exploded because of what's clearly a manufacturing defect and they force me to pay out of pocket and ship it off to even get a set of eyes on it. Love the idea of this tool but it does not live up to standard of drop shipped multi tools at a quarter of the price. I used to really be a fan of Leatherman and was ready to take a chance on this oddball little tool, but I really don't think I'm going to ever purchase a Leatherman tool again."

It's not the tool, it's the QC.

"I have several Skeletools (this new one makes 6). I purchased all of them new. This is the first time I've had an issue with one of them. Beans new, out of the box, one of the arms would not engage so I couldn't open the plier head. I sent it back for replacement. I got my new replacement Skeletool in a couple weeks. Right out of the box, the blade won't lock without me forcefully pulling itinto place. I think it's one of the washers that isn't perfectly round. I've worked with it and sometimes it locks perfectly but after 2-3 open close cycles I assume the washer gets spun around to it's wonky side and it won't lock again."
