Charge® Recall Information

We’ve issued a voluntary recall for the Charge® Plus (Stainless & Black and All Black variants) and Charge® Plus TTi, manufactured between July 2024 and March 2025.

A small portion of units produced during this time has a defect that prevents the knife blade from fully closing. In certain cases, the tip of the knife blade doesn’t fully fold into the handle, posing a laceration hazard.

To determine if your tool is affected, review the qualifications below to see if your tool meets the recall criteria. You’ll find guidance on how to identify the specific issue and confirm whether your model is affected. If it qualifies, complete the form provided, and we’ll send you clear instructions for returning the tool for repair.

This voluntary recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Qualifications

Affected Charge Product Models

The following Charge product models are subject to recall:

  • Charge® Plus (Stainless & Black, All Black)
  • Charge® Plus TTi

Note: Only units purchased between July 2024 and March 2025 are affected.

Identify issue

To determine whether your tool is affected, follow the simple steps below:

  1. Close your tool so that all blades are safely stowed.
  2. Lay it flat on a table with the “LEATHERMAN CHARGE” logo facing you.
  3. Examine the knife blade from the side view.

If the tip of the knife blade is visible when the tool is closed (as shown in the first image below), your tool is affected.

If the tip is completely hidden inside the handle (as shown in the second image), your tool is functioning properly and does not require service.

Recall Submission Process

1) Check eligibility

Review the instructions above to determine if your product is affected.

2) Submit the Recall Form

Complete the online form below to initiate your return.

3) SEND US YOUR PRODUCT

After submitting the form, you'll receive a prepaid shipping label and packing slip by email within one business day. Carefully package your tool and send it to us once you've received the label.

4) We'll Repair it and Return it

As soon as we receive your tool, we'll inspect it and repair or replace the blade.

We stand behind our tools and are committed to fixing the issue and getting yours back in your hands, ready to take on the expected and unexpected. Once we receive the tool in our warehouse, it will be shipped back to you in about one week.
